Ray Ficca

Ray has been acting professionally since receiving his BA from Georgetown University (1989) in Washington, DC and a Diploma from the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts in Washington, DC (1991). He has over 100 professional stage credits from theatres in New York, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Ohio.

In 1992, he became a company member at Theatre on the Hill Summer Stock in Westminster, MD, where he remained for 8 seasons. In 1999 he performed for the role of Tony in Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding in Baltimore for Mechanic Theatre’s Broadway Series. He was the asked to originate the role for the Hanna Theatre in Cleveland, OH where it became the longest running show in Cleveland history.

Ray joined Totem Pole as a resident company member in 2005, performing in Funny Money, Ten Little Indians, and My Three Angels. When not at acting Totem Pole, he performs with the nationally acclaimed Charter Theatre in Arlington, VA.

He has served on the faculty as a drama teacher of Iona Preparatory School (Chair) in New Rochelle, NY, Calvert Hall College in Baltimore, MD, and The National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, where was elected President in 2006. He has also been a guest lecturer at American University and McDaniel College.

In 2003, he became the Liaison in the Washington, DC/Baltimore Region for the Actor's Equity Association.

Ray was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Northern New Jersey. He returned to the DC area when he was 18 to attend Georgetown as a student athlete. He was a four year letterman as a wide receiver during his time at Georgetown and is still ranked on the all time pass reception list. He lives in Arlington, VA with his wife, Nan who like Ray, is a ferocious Washington Redskins Fan.
